The Red Romance - "the Red Romance"
It's no surprise that this band did a stint opening for the Killers earlier this year (they are also in the thank you section of the disc). The Red Romance's sound at times sounds like the little brother of the Killers (like on the song "break away"), but The Red Romance delves even further into the new wave synth sound, and dare I say it, their music is even poppier. "One shot" sounds like the type of song that would have been blaring from top 40 radio 20 years ago, and yet the song is so infectiously catchy that it doesn't sound like a dated 80's tune. What I'm trying to say, maybe poorly, is that The Red Romance have put together 5 really fun synth-pop songs that make you want to rock your head back and forth and sing along. Give in to the temptation. I can't wait to hear their forthcoming full length.
