Zydepunks - "exile way"
Sometimes a band name tells you very little about a band, for instance, if you didn't know The Doors music, it would be hard for you to figure out what their music sounded like by their name. However, with the Zydepunks, you get exactly what their name implies, a Louisiana band who have brought the punk attitude to zydeco music, of course they also have flashes of klezmer music and traditional Irish folk songs. This band would be equally at home on stage with The New Orleans Klezmer Allstars, Buckwheat Zydeco, or Flogging Molly. I love that there is that kind of diversity on this album, and yet the album sounds seemless as an album.
