Brian Setzer Orchestra - "Wolfgang's big night out"

Over the many years of Brian Setzer's career he has helped to bring back rockabilly and swing music to mainstream radio. With "Wolfgang's big night out", Setzer attempts to update some of the most well known classical pieces of all time, with his own interpretations with his orchestra. This means swingin' jive versions of songs such as Tchaikovsky's "1812 overture" (renamed "1812 overdrive"), and Rimsky-Korsakov's "flight of the bumblebee" (renamed "honey man"). These songs, as well as the 10 other tracks on this CD, become removed from the stuffy confines of a symphony hall, and re-imagined with the playful swagger that the Brian Setzer Orchestra has become famous for. I never would have thought you'd be able to swing dance to classical music, but then again these adaptations, while bearing enough resemblance to their origins to be noticeable, are truly original interpretations. I'm not sure if the original composers would approve, but I sure do.
