Office - "a night at the Ritz"

Not to be confused with the great TV show, The Office, the band Office, is a pop rock band from Chicago. Their album, "a night at the Ritz", immediately sets a fun vibe with "oh my", which I think would make a great rock song to put over the opening or closing credits to a comedic film that wants you to know it's ok to have fun. It's hard not to sing along to the chorus, it just begs you too. Many of the songs on this amazing debut album do. It's no surprise to me that Scratchie Records signed them, as one of the owners is Adam Schlesinger of Fountains Of Wayne. While Office is not a carbon copy of FOW (thankfully), they are another band that has that same quality of infectious pop rock, that sadly for the most part gets overlooked by commercial radio, for more watered down and less creative "pop rock". But if you're a regular here at Lazlo's Den, then you probably aren't one of those people who prefers what commercial radio feeds you. Go to http://www.myspace.com/officemusic and listen to songs like, "oh my", and, "the ritz", and you'll see why this is among the most fun albums I've listened to this year.
