Lillian Axe - "waters rising"
Ok, I'll admit it, I went through my metal phase in the 80's, but I'm sure many of us (who were of a certain age in the 80's) did. Somehow I don't remember much about Lillian Axe, but apparently they were around in the late 80's through 1995 and released 4 albums during that period. They reunited in 1999 and released a b-sides collection and a live album since, but, "waters rising", is their first album of new material since 1993. This album doesn't break new ground in any way, but it belts out some great heavy metal. Far from a hair band, they do however include a few acoustic ballads on here that teeter on the Extreme vibe. If you're looking for an album with a classic heavy metal sound, this is the album for you. It even made me a metal head again for a brief moment.
