Hotel De Ville - "Hotel De VIlle"

Hotel De Ville is the new lush atmospheric album from composer and vocalist Rhett Brewer. What exactly do I mean by, "lush atmospheric", a term probably used all too often by reviewers but never defined? Well in this case it means that the music is full of piano based pieces with digital loops and orchestral programming, with Rhett's falsetto vocals wafting over it all, giving the songs a cinematic score quality. It is of no surprise that his bio states that he has scored films before and that his music is used in films (I just wish they were better films than the ABC movie of the week that he mentions, "The Path to 9/11"). At times listening to this album I was reminded of the more accessible songs that Sigur Ros has put out over the years. This is a great album to mellow out to after a long day. Press play, close your eyes, and just let the music flow over you and relax you.
