The Future Kings Of Nowhere - "the Future Kings Of Nowhere"

"Rising from the pre-apocalyptic sludge, the bad boys and girls of The Future Kings of Nowhere bring a mighty roar that cancels out the din of generation Why. Don't be fooled by the acoustic guitars, this is big noise. It's like a Fisher Price xylophone through a Marshall stack operated by an art school dropout committing a final act of brilliance in a giant industrial meat processor. Except it's catchy as hell. " --- from The Future Kings Of Nowhere's bio

I don't think I could possibly write any more creative statement on this band then the above, however, I do want to try to tell you a bit about the great debut album from The Future Kings Of Nowhere. Their music may be dubbed, "acousticore", or "acoustic pop punk", but this self titled CD is full of diversity. From the more traditional pop punk sounds of "lather, rinse, repeat", to the rockabilly Johnny Cash-esque song, "10 simple murders", and that's just the first 2 songs on this CD! Some of the songs sound like upbeat versions of early Dashboard Confessional songs, without sounding at all emo (thankfully). Other songs have a loungey acoustic pop punk sound because of the nice flourishes of horns and keyboards. Much of the album is just downright fun to listen to, and maybe that is all that really matters.
