Notes From The Den 1-18-10

Hey Den-ziens,

I know youíve probably heard this enough already, but just in case you havenít, if you have extra money, please donate to Oxfam, Red Cross, or another reputable organization helping the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake.

If not for the fact I am already busy working on the benefit album and concert (see last weekís newsletter) for Shayne Miel from the Future Kings Of Nowhere (, who is currently fighting stage IV lymphoma (cancer), Iíd have probably tried to put together a Haiti Earthquake Relief Benefit. If anyone is working on one, Iíd be happy to help any way I can, but I just donít have the time to take lead on the project (as much as Iíd like to).

Itís Martin Luther King Day today (Monday), and as I do every year, I will be replaying the ďI have a dreamĒ speech on Lazloís Den tonight (8pm ET on, 9pm ET on

Pissed Off!

Did Avatar really win best dramatic picture at the Golden Globes?!?!? Really?!?!? I am saddened to see that the foreign press association has gone for big budget, big effects, and not much plot, over films of substance. Itís a sad day indeed.

* Editorís note: In fairness, Lazlo has disclosed that he has not actually seen Avatar and judges his sentiment on trailers, reviews, and the fact that James Cameron hasnít made a decent movie since the Abyss. And donít even get him started on Titanic winning the Oscar for best picture.

That's all for this week.

Thanks for reading.
