Newsletter 1-3-11

Hey Everyone,

Happy New Year!

I’m working on a lot of new things for & Lazlo’s Den. I want this to be the best year yet for the support of good music.

As always I’d love to hear from you. If there’s something you think would make & Lazlo’s Den, let me know.

I’m also looking for more people interested in doing CD and live concert reviews. Jay Mazeffect is doing a great job on reviews, but I’d love to have more reviewers so we can shine a spotlight on more great music.

Now for some quick updates:

The first Free Concert series show of 2011 is Saturday January 29th at Buddie’s Tavern with The Extras Inc., Zigman Bird, and The Accelerators!

Concert Picks Of The Week

Lazlo (

This Saturday at Maxwell's you can see two bands that made my best albums of 2010 list, Particle Zoo and Readymade Breakup, along with NJ rock veterans Last Perfect Thing.

Jim Testa (Jersey Beat)

Saturday, January 8
LAST PERFECT THING, Particle Zoo, Readymade Breakup, Hello Boat - Maxwells, 1039 Washington St. Hoboken - 8:30 pm, $8, 18+

The new year gets off to a great start with this all-star NJ band showcase at Maxwells.

Danny Coleman (Rock On Radio)

My pick this week is: KIM YARSON & THE VOLUNTEERS live at PETE'S STEAK HOUSE on Saturday at 10pm. YARSON has been working on her second CD and is anxious to debut some of her new material. This is a rare full band gig so don't miss it! Pete's is located at 523 White Horse Ave, Hamilton, NJ. ROCK ON!

Jared Migden (WRSU)

On Friday night, The Obvious, Chemtrail, and the American Dollar will be performing at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park. The 3 bands will be providing the score to the silent film "Wings," first released in 1927. A portion of the proceeds for this show will benefit the Asbury Park Film Initiative.

That's all for this week folks.
