Ben Godwin To Tour The UK and Ireland In September

(New York, NY)—August 16, 2007

Brooklyn songwriter Ben Godwin plans to tour the UK and Ireland throughout September in support his new record, "Skin and Bone." More details on dates and venue information will be made available at www.bengodwin.com.

"Skin And Bone", released on April 17th, offers nine twisted cabaret tales of city life told through his grisly baritone and unique vaudeville-pop poetic: tales of beauty, struggle and hope amongst the chaos and filth of the sidewalks, subways and skylines. The record is currently climbing the charts at college and specialty radio throughout North America. Choice tracks from "Skin and Bone" can be downloaded at www.myspace.com/karmafarm.

Ben moved to the New York City in 2005 after many successful years as a touring musician in the UK, performing at legendary London venues like the Troubadour, the Metro Club and the Kashmir Klub. He previously released the EPs "ShinyShiny" and "Lighter than Atom", with over 40,000 downloads served.

New York life transformed his sound into something resembling the gravelly, fractured style of Tom Waits or the apocalyptic blues of Nick Cave- 'soaked in the gasoline, dirt, and restaurant grease of the sidewalks and subway platforms of his new home.' (Tom Drake-Urbanfolk #10)

He is also a frequent performer in NYC for LIFEbeat's Hearts & Voices program, which brings live music to people living with HIV. Proceeds from each sale of "Skin And Bone" will go to benefit LIFEbeat.

Among the new generation of independent artists who are getting their work out to audiences on their own terms, Ben will continue to bring "Skin And Bone" to the mainstream, knocking listeners out one by one, one song at a time. "Skin And Bone" is available for purchase via KarmaFarm records on iTunes, eMusic, Real, CDBaby and Rhapsody.

"Gritty and glittering street scenes come alive on the rollicking debut from this London native turned New Yorker. Combining jazzy cabaret swagger with soulful sincerity, Skin And Bone belongs in both dueling piano bars and topdown car stereos, as Ben Godwin's gruff, Tom Waits-like growl saunters toward perfection. It seems New York City has done Godwin some good " - Magnet.

"His deep vocal groove supports each song coupled with outstanding songwriting and arrangement. Also, the production here is top notch and Drinking Gasoline has to be one of the most brilliant songs ever written! Imagine Tom Waits and Randy Newman watching Asylum Street Spankers. Here's one for our Top 10 of 2007!" - Independents Only

"Skin and Bone" will transport you to a time of smoke filled speakeasies, the streets of New York in the mid 20's, where Jazz and Blues once ruled the world. Not a thing mattered more then love, freedom and a feeling of being alive. Ben Godwin's voice will captivate you, pulling you deep inside a movie where every dramatic lyric of each song is eloquently placed to take your breath away." - Your Best Bet
