About the event and A.R.M.S.
It doesn't matter if you are for or against the Iraq war, this NON-PARTISAN benefit is for the troops and their families, who have been deeply impacted by it.

The lives of families with deployed soldiers have been significantly changed by the war. Many are living without their primary wage earner and are in need of support services. Some of the great things A.R.M.S. has done includes direct financial aid and food to families, collecting holiday presents for children of mobilized soldiers, distributing pre-paid calling cards so soldiers can call home, providing meals to troops, raising money so that soldiers can come home for the holidays prior to deployment, and advocating for legislation on behalf of the troops and military families, (such as a currently proposed bill that will allow immediate family members of military troops engaged in combat, free mailing while that military member is in a combat zone).
