Socratic Bassist Hospitalized After Attempting To Stop Car Hijacking

August 29, 2012 - Linden, New Jersey - On August 23rd, Socratic bassist, Lou Panico, displayed a true effort of heroism when he attempted to halt a car hijacking in the parking lot of his local New Jersey Guitar Center, two days before the band's "Lunch For The Sky" vinyl re-release show. After an effort to stop the thief, Panico was struck by the driver and ran over by the stolen vehicle. The bass player sustained severe injuries to his left leg, but is on the road to recovery after intensive surgery.

Panico stresses that, while healing from surgery (four screws and a metal rod were needed to repair the damage), the band will not be slowing down any time soon. He plans to attend Socratic's next show in New York City on September 15th at The Bitter End, even though he will have to sit for the performance.

Panico says, "Worst things have happened to us. We always persevere. I don't care if I have to be on a gurney throughout the entire set, I'll be there."
