Mike Pek is an independent singer-songwriter and musician who has been performing regularly at various NJ venues since 2002, including The Brighton Bar (Long Branch), The Saint (Asbury Park), and Luna Stage (Montclair), and Two Rivers Theater (Red Bank). Opening for NJ rock veteran Pat DiNizio of the Smithereens, Pek performed as part of the Songwriters in the Park series in Red Bank in June 2006. Mike has enjoyed some airplay on 90.5 The Night (WBJB, Lincroft) and on several internet radio stations. In 2006, he made his first television appearance on TV30’s Café Improv (Princeton). He also had the honor of performing at the closing ceremonies of the Family Assistance Center for 9/11 victims in Jersey City – delivering a rendition of his song “AC/DC in Heaven,” a personal tribute to a close friend and former band member, Wayne Russo, lost in the 9/11 disaster. Lyrics to this song have since been published in Sounds of Silence: Remembering the Heroes, Victims & Survivors of September 11, 2001. In November 2005, Mike released his second full-length CD, 'Second Thoughts,' which was included in Upstage Magazine’s top 100 albums of the year for 2005. Much of Mike’s time is spent on Ghost Town Trilogy, a band formed in 2006.
